In Austria’s western-most corner, Vorarlberg is in a perfect position between Lake Constance and the mountainous Arlberg region, where Austria meets Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
From the picturesque waters of Lake Constance to the imposing peaks of the Arlberg, Silvretta and Ratikon ranges, it’s a sight to behold. Activities include sailing, hiking, cycling, golfing and rafting, while there’s culture on the events programme, such as the spectacular Bregenz Festival.
Situated in the north, with Salzburgerland to the west and Vienna to the east, Upper Austria boasts imposing mountains, which soar above green valleys and rolling hills.
The climate is warm and wonderful! Liberally sprinkled with lakes, it’s great for watersports and sailing, and, with beautiful beaches, perfect for swimming. You can cycle alongside the famous River Danube or head for the heights by ski lift and hike along grassy mountain slopes.

Austria’s second largest province, stretching from Salzburgerland through the south-east, this is Austria’s green heart, a land of forests, meadows and vineyards. Its landscape and moderate climate make it an ideal destination for outdoor sports and relaxing retreats.

The Hohe Tauern mountains provide a stunning backbone to this most romantic of regions. Salzburg itself sits on the very edge of the mountains and, as you fly in you pass over flat meadows with the snow-capped peaks providing a spectacular backdrop. Salzburg is the city of Mozart and The Sound of Music - sophisticated sights and sounds are everywhere. As you move into the mountains you find a different world, alive with waterfalls, springs, caves and protected nature reserves.
This is a place of natural beauty, dominated by the Hohe Tauern National Park, the Grossglockner, Austria’s highest mountain, as well as ice caves, a hundred lakes and vast pastures and meadows.
This is Austria’s deep south, where the mountains push up against Slovenia and Italy and the summers are idyllic. In Austria’s lake district the green, rolling hills are dotted with more than 1,270 fabulous lakes, many offering waterfront sports facilities and great bathing beaches.
Warm and wonderful in the summer, the lakes are the main draw. At places like Worthersee and Faaker See you can learn to windsurf, water-ski and sail. Head to the rivers to join a rafting expedition, hire canoes or simply stroll along the banks.
Austria´s easternmost province, the Burgenland covers a relatively narrow strip of land along the Austrian-Hungarian border, stretching from the Danube in the north to the Slovenian border in the south. With gently rolling hills and plains, brackish ponds and reed-rimmed lakes, it has unspoilt nature in abundance - and a unique flora and fauna. It has perfect thermal baths and is a famous wine growing region.
They say water is the elixir of life and Burgenland is rich in healing mineral resources, such as mineral water, thermal water and healing mud.
